The below events are open to all Florida Mayors (both FLM members and nonmembers) and Vice/Deputy Mayors, except the FLM Board Dinner is for FLM Board Members Only.

The FLM events are held in conjunction with the Florida League of Cities (FLC) Annual Conference August 14-16, 2025.

NOTE: If you are attending the FLC events, you must complete the FLC registration and payment on the FLC website.

FLM Workshop — Small Shops and Big Brands: A Holistic Approach to Retail Development
Workshop Description: Retail plays a pivotal role in community development and enhancing quality of life. This session offers a comprehensive look at Florida’s evolving retail landscape and presents a balanced strategy that combines national retailer attraction with strong small business support. Attendees will learn how to leverage retail corridors, demographic data, and site selection tools to drive investment, while also enhancing walkability, promoting mixed-use development, and creating experiential destinations that resonate with residents and visitors alike. The session also covers new AI tools to support local merchants and other ways to enhance the small business landscape. Participants will leave with clear action steps and resources to build a thriving, balanced retail ecosystem in their own communities.
